What I can help with
-
Alcohol, drugs, smoking, gambling — the substance is rarely the whole story. Most dependency is a way of managing something underneath it, and it holds on because somewhere along the way you stopped believing you could stop.
I've spent twenty-seven years working with addiction and dependency. We work on the belief that keeps the pattern in place, not on willpower.

Anxiety that arrives without an obvious cause. A constant background hum of worry. Reactions that feel out of proportion to what's happening now.
Often these are old responses that made sense once and haven't updated. Hypnotherapy works with the cause rather than the coping strategies built on top of it — and you don't need to relive anything distressing for that to happen.

Flying, driving, dentists, needles, enclosed spaces, medical scans. A phobia isn't irrational — it's a protective response that's become oversensitive. It can be turned down.

Smoking, nail biting, eating patterns you'd rather not have. Habits persist because they're doing a job — usually soothing something. Address that, and stopping gets much easier.

Stress, anxiety and constant demands can leave you feeling like you're managing everything and present for none of it. Difficulty deciding. Difficulty switching off. A sense of being permanently braced.
We work on what's driving it, so calm stops being something you have to manufacture.

How it works
Twenty minutes on a call. You tell me as much or as little as you want. I'll tell you honestly whether I can help.
Roughly an hour, by video call, somewhere you feel safe. You stay aware the whole time — deeply relaxed, fully in control.
You'll leave with simple practices, so the work carries on quietly between sessions.
Hello, I’m Doreen..
I've spent twenty-seven years working with addiction and dependency, and I've watched people arrive with a genuine will to change and still find themselves stuck — not for lack of effort, but because somewhere underneath they'd stopped believing change was possible for them.
I didn't believe I could be hypnotised either. I'd been trying to learn to drive for over twenty years; after working with my own therapist, I drove as though I'd always done it. That's when I stopped being a sceptic.

You don't need to relive pain to recover from it.
You need to change the belief that keeps you stuck.
You stay awake, aware and in control throughout. Nothing happens that you're not fully conscious of. All that's asked of you is to relax, listen, and trust the process.
